Remote, 2021–2026

I joined Remote in March 2021 as one of its first backend engineers. Engineering was about 20 people then. It grew to over 200, spread across the world.

I spent most of that time leading product-focused cross-functional teams through rapid growth: first a small team spread across the Americas, Europe and APAC, then groups of teams, managers and Staff Engineers around them. I stayed hands-on throughout, close enough to the execution to guide the technical direction and know where the teams needed help.

My roles at Remote: Senior Backend Engineer II from March 2021, Engineering Team Leader from September 2021, Engineering Manager from December 2022.

Heresy, 2016–2020

Co-founder & CTO. Sales analytics, built on Elixir.

In 2016 I started Heresy with my friend Dimitar: a sales analytics and forecasting platform. We raised close to $1M before we had a product, from Seedcamp, LAUNCHub Ventures, the London Co-Investment Fund and AngelList. We launched in 2017, and TechCrunch covered it. Customers came later, including Stack Overflow, Trello and GoCardless.

We built it on Elixir and Phoenix from day one, back when that was an unusual bet. Every customer's Salesforce org had to stay in sync continuously: thousands of concurrent integrations, each with its own API limits, backfilling years of history while keeping live data current.

We closed the company in March 2020.
