My name is Svilen. I'm a software engineer with a technical leadership and entrepreneurship background. I'm also an author, public speaker, and consultant.

Over the years, I've been extremely lucky to work on many interesting projects, with many talented people. Below you can find some personal highlights.

Writing a book is no easy task, but I was fortunate enough to have The Pragmatic Programmers as my publisher. After about a year of work, "Concurrent Data Processing in Elixir" became available in February 2021.

You can currently buy the eBook version from the Pragmatic Programmers website. Available in print soon.

In 2016, I joined my friend Dimitar to build Heresy. We raised £755K in venture capital pre-product, and launched it in 2017. You can read more about it on TechCrunch.

Heresy was built using Elixir and Phoenix from the beginning. Elixir helped our small team tackle many of the challenges you'd have when importing and syncing data from thousands of Salesforce instances, in real-time.

It was a great journey, but in the end, we closed the company in early 2020.

I've had the opportunity to speak at many local and regional events. Some of them were small meetups of no more than a dozen people, while others had audiences of 300+ attending.

I don't do public speaking as much as I did in the past, but if you're looking for a speaker and think that I might be a good fit, get in touch.
